Data Scientists (a sub-set of data analytics analysts) are usually responsible for reviewing large quantities of unstructured and structured data, in order to provide important information for companies. Data Scientists can come from a number of different fields, including computer science, business, engineering, and economics. However, they all use statistical methods to analyze large sets of unstructured or structured data.

As such, a Data Science Consultant's portfolio should include a wide variety of projects that showcase their wide-range of skills and abilities. If you are interested in becoming a consultant, it is important to understand that in order to be effective in the role, Data Scientists need to have both the technical knowledge necessary to develop large-scale data analytics solutions, and the interpersonal skills needed to deal with a wide range of clients and executives.
